Default wagon and horses in hanley

Hi, Does anyone have any information about this public house. It was on Tontine Street, Hanley in 1970.
The upstairs was a cocktail bar.
Again if anyone knows anything about this pub, Wagon and Horses, or its proprietor or staff please get in touch.
    Thankyou

Hi destiny63, and welcome to the forums!

I've moved your thread to the Staffordshire forum, where it should attract some help from those in the know.

There's a photo of it in 2000 here:

It looks like it was renamed again after 2000.

"Harveys Pub (formerly The Waggon & Horses and then 'Tigers' Pub ) - which is on the corner of Old Hall Street and Tontine Street."

You can see the place on Google Maps. There was a For Sale sign up when Google covered the area so I don't know if it is still a pub.

It doesn't appear in the 1932 Kelly's Directory but in the 1940 Kelly's Directory the address is 37 Tontine Street and the landlord is Chas. Frost.

Note that the name is WAGGON & HORSES INN

It seems to have gone out of commission for a while, as it is not mentioned in the 1932 or 1924 Kellys. However it is included as a beer retailer in 1904 at no 37, and the 1901 census lists it as the Waggon & Horses under Joseph John Adams.

Thanks. Does anyone know how I can find out who was the landlady/lord in 1970 or members of staff?

I did have a look at a 1970 Stoke-on-Trent 'phone directory last night and unfortunately it only lists the pub, not the Landlord.
