Thank you very much Graham. That's the lady I was after. She was my great great grandmother. She left her 2 son's in charge of sorting out her affairs, and one of them a Tax Man to-boot.

    Thank you again

Because it went to probate, does that mean there IS a will or just that there may be?

Just been reading the Will sticky and £6 seems very cheap for a will. Is that correct?

    Well that's very cheap.

    It says on the form

Probate details (if known) Grant type, Issuing Registry and grant issue date.

I now know the issue date 03 August 1929 but do I just leave the other 2 empty?

This is my first will aplication don'tcha know

That’s bloomin great Graham, I’m on my way to acquiring my first ever will.

Oh and while I’m at it….

I have this for a Mary Jane Drayton Deaths Mar Qtr 1932 Shropshire (think she was living at Pen-y-Wern, Bucknell, Shropshire when she died)

(Mary Jane was my Great grandmother and Hannah Evan’s daughter)

Effects to Dorothy Mary Beddoes wife of Samuel Thomas Beddoes £186 14s 6d

(Dorothy was my dad’s aunty who died of TB in 1938)

Does that mean that this went to probate too? Would there be a will?

I don’t have the full details for Mary Jane Drayton.

Would that come under Issuing Registry?

I think it was granted in London as that is where Charles Henry her son lived and worked

See trying to run before I can walk

I will send my application away on Monday, then sit and wait by my letterbox for the next 4 weeks. Better get the thermos out, it’s gonna be a long wait.

Thank you very much Graham you have been a great help. I would have been totally lost.

Can you please explain to me how I find Wills & Probate records.

    Never tried

    Many thanks.
