Hello Alanst500 - welcome to Brit-Gen,
Have you checked the local newspapers to see if there is a death/funeral announcement that could provide clues? You may be lucky and find a funeral notice that lists the name of the cemetery.
If you contact the Nottinghamshire Archives, they may be able to help.

How about Kingsway Old Cemetery in Kirkby-in-Ashfield?
Seriously, the standard approach is via the relevant local authority. In this case it's Ashfield District Council (why am I telling you that?
). Have a look at their website and look up cemeteries in the index.
Dig around and you'll find they've got some burial records online...

PS You do have the death certificate, don't you?

Ashfield District Council cemetery burial records are online at:
http://www.ashfield-dc.gov.uk/ashfie...ries/index.php
I’ve had a quick look through Annesley, Hucknall, Huthwaite, Kingsway (old) & Sutton and I couldn’t see an entry for Sarah in 1923 but you’ll want to check again for yourself I expect.
The council will do a free search for you if you want. See: http://www.ashfield-dc.gov.uk/ccm/na...grave-details/
If her grave is not found in a cemetery in Ashfield it may be worth checking the area where she came from if this was different as she may have been buried with/near her own family.malcolm99

This Lady is hard to find in Birth marriage or Death. Is CLarke her maiden name or Married name? I did see one Sarahellen b 1902 on 1911 census Parents Joseph & Emily.b Manchester. Is that your Grandmother?

A good candidate for the birth is Sarah Ellen I Clarke (sic) Mansfield RD, June Q 1902 - couldn't get more local!

The 1911 Census is RG14/20383 SN 147. Sarah was born in Tibshelf, Derbyshire which is only a few miles up the road from Kirkby.

I do have one enormous advantage on this one - like you're 12 000 miles away & I'm about 10!!
