A will of a distant uncle and either a distant uncle or a direct ancestor (it's a bit unclear) in Beckford in the 1620s list these persons as kinsman.
Francis Still (had issue)
Henry Still (had issue) (A Henry Still is mentioned in both wills, could be the same person)
John Still of Tewksbury and John Still a shoemaker (mentioned in both wills, could be the same person).
A bit of a long shot, posting this, but when you get back to the 16th and 17th centuries, any clue becomes valuable.![]()

I assume that's the Beckford in Worcs, close to the Glos border?
Glos wills here:

Searching on STILL throws up lots of spelling variations, including a James STILE in Oxenton, which is same sort of area.
Plus lots of others; I'm not so familiar with the places that end of the county.

Yes, it is. And thanks for your help.

I've searched through that site for Still wills. Nothing jumps out at me, but I don't know very much (to say the least) about that branch of my family.

Hi there,
It's not much, but there's a baptism at nearby Alderton that may be relevant:
Mary STYLE 16 Jan 1609, father Francis

According to Genuki, Alderton and Beckford are 3 miles apart.
You may also want to consider this baptism at Swindon, Glos (not to be confused with the much larger Swindon, Wiltshire) Swindon Glos, is just on the edge of present day Cheltenham, on the Cheltenham to Tewkesbury road, 7 miles south of both Beckford and Alderton ( thanks again Genuki);
Richjeard STEELE 13 Jul 1623, parents Frauncis STEELE and Ane
