    Default ARMSTRONG-ROBSON-BELL LANERCOST

    Hello

I'm writing from France. My ancestors were ARMSTRONG and I'm searching for relatives.
My ancestor was WALTER ARMSTRONG born in LANERCOST (CUMBRIA) about 1686 ,burial
    May 1756 in LANERCOST.
He married 21 Nov 1711 ,JANE ROBSON born in KILNHILL about 1672 ,died 26 Mar 1732.
They have a son THOMAS born FEB 1718 in KILNHILL.
THOMAS had a son HENRY born in Apr 1742.He married MARY BELL of CASTLE CARROCK
    19 Aug 1765.
THOMAS was the father of ANN ARMSTRONG who was born about 1741 in BRAMPTON.
She married a French ships Captain, DOMINIQUE LISSABE on 18 Feb 1761 at BRAMPTON.
Captain LISSABE'S French ship had been captured by the English about 1757, during the
SEVEN YEARS WAR .As a prisoner of war he was taken to BRAMPTON in CUMBERLAND.
This evidently was a "parole town" where prisoners who were officers were priviliged to wander
around the town being limited by a one mile radius .
    Thank's for informations .
