Would anyone be able to and wouldn't mind looking for the baptisms of the following children with the surname of Kenton/Kinton and let me know the occupation of the dad please?
Martha 22.3.1818
Sarah and Ann 13.8.1820
Maria 5.2.1826
James 22.11 1822/1826
These baptsims were at St Peter Hammersmith, the parents being a James and Elizabeth. Also if these ones can be found are there any more after James?
Thank you
Ewan

Hello Ewan,
On Martha's baptismal certificate, James is a labourer.
I'll have a look for the others!
Josie
Edit: On all five certificates, James is a labourer. I can't see any other children! Young James was baptised in 1822.Last edited by josie7644; 19-10-2011 at 07:49 PM. Reason: Extra info

Hi Ewan
In all cases, James the father was a labourer. Surname is KINTON. James' baptism was on 22.11.1822.Jellylegs

Thank you Josie for your help with confirming the occupation of James and that you couldn't see anymore baptisms of this couple, thank you also jellylegs for your help with this.
It appears that James was a brick maker prior to 1818 and then a labourer later on when the family moved to Middlesex. It then looks like they had some more children but they were baptised at St Pauls Hammersmith, which I don't think is covered by the lma. These were John in 1829 ad Francis January 1832. Would anyone be able to check that for me please?
Thank you
Ewan

Hello Ewan,
For some reason John and Francis don't show up on A*. However, according to Family Search, they were both baptised at St Paul's Hammersmith on 4 Jan 1829 and 29 Jan 1832, respectively.

The baptisms were all at St Paul Hammersmith, not St Peter (which opened only in 1829).
The parish registers for St Paul Hammersmith are at Hammersmith & Fulham Archives.

The LMA has only the incomplete bishop's transcripts for this parish, which is why you can't find all the baptisms on Ancestry.
However, the LMA is currently managing H&F Archives, so any enquiries about registers should be directed to them.

Hello Josie and Kerrwood, thank you for your replies.
Thank you for finding the 2 baptisms of the boys on family search, as mentioned by Kerrywood if they were baptised/married/buried at St Pauls Hammersmith they would not show up on ancestry, I will need to contact Hammersmith and Fulham Archives (now LMA) to see if they can help with more information from those baptisms.
Thank you again for your help
