Hi,
Browsing the Thaxted, Essex PRs I came across the stray below.
From the Essex Records Office online SEAX system, reference # D/P 16/1/3 image # 17.
Thomas son of William and Jane Turner baptised 12 Jul 1724.
"The place of settlement of ye above mentioned is at Wikingham in ye county of Lincoln".
I didn't check for any other baptisms for this family, it was just a case of the note above catching my eye in passing.
The online Essex PRs will remain free to view until the 24th of this month.
SEAX site address, http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk/default.asp
Hope it is of some use to someone.
Regards.

Hi,
Just had another look at that Turner baptism entry and on comparison with other handwriting of the same recorder, what I thought was a k is actually a double l, making the place name Willingham not Wikingham.
Sorry about that.
Regards

Dear Findem
Thanks for link to Essex - got in today just in time. Having fun tracking down where the Rudkin family of Essex fits in to the main group. Essex data provided two from 1600s not on my list. This helps to make the link to younger brothers of the original Norfolk branch (starting 1200s) more likely.

Hi Diane,
The ERO have now put back the commencement of Pay to View to possibly the 7th of November, apparently they have encountered some technical hurdles, so if you've any more Essex searches to carry out, go for it!
Regards.
