Lango could you be more precise please? Can I assume that Cartwright was her married name and you are looking for her maiden name? If so there's a possible marriage in 1912

Taylor Adelaide Jun qtr 1912 Aston vol 6d page 365
Name of spouse = John Cartwright

If you obtain the marriage certificate this would give you her father's name and help you to get further back.

If Adelaide was your grandmother don't you have the birth certificate of whichever of your parents she was the mother of? This would be your usual starting point and would give you her maiden name.

you definitely need a certificate as there is also:
    1911 Census:
    RG14PN22090 RG78PN1310B RD452 SD3 ED38 SN135
    13 Tabor St Seacombe Cheshire

Charles CARTWRIGHT born Birkenhead abt. 1881 occ: Engine Fitter
Adelaide CARTWRIGHT born Birkenhead abt. 1884
Adelaide E. CARTWRIGHT born Birkenhead abt. 1902
Thomas E. CARTWRIGHT born Birkenhead abt. 1904
Lilly M. CARTWRIGHT born Seacombe, Cheshire abt. 1906
Charles W. CARTWRIGHT born Seacombe, Cheshire abt. 1911 (aged 2 months)

Charles & Adelaide had been married 10 years.

Charles Ernest CARTWRIGHT married Adelaide ROWE Birkenhead, Civil Marriage in 1900

there is also at least one other possible.

Volume 6d page 365 is the General Register office reference for the marriage I found. However, now we know the name of your Grandfather that obviously wasn't his marriage.

Where did you get the date of 1910 from? There is no marriage listing that I can find for a Walter Aspden to an Adelaide. The nearest I can find is a 1914 marriage which took place in Chorley of a Walter Aspden and an Ada Berry (June quarter 1914 Chorley vol 8e page 1253

Lango, I'm somewhat confused. In this other thread you have stated that your Grandfather Walter Frank Aspden married Annie Begnett in Birkenhead in 1915. Can you please give us the correct dates so that we can better understand exactly what we are searching for.

Nicolina, you might like to check Lango's other thread on Walter Aspden (link provided in #7) because it looks like he's had quite a lot of help already.
