    Default Edward Thomas Gardner

Can anyone provide any information about the theatrical career of Edward Thomas Gardner who died 14/07/1930 at the age of 82 at 164 Ebury Street, Westminster?

The death was registered by his widow A Gardner, and the Death Certificate states that he was an 'Old Age Pensioner, formerly an Actor'.

This is the same name as someone in my tree, and the age at death would fit, but he was elsewhere recorded at different times prior to 1901 as being an architect, an estate agent, and an officer in the London Horse Artillery Volunteers. Can he have embarked on a new career in the 20th century? After much searching I have found no other recorded death that seems to fit.

    Thanks for any help, FredP.

    Hello Fred,

Have you checked the Stage Archives (archive.thestage.co.uk/ - put http:// in front) to see if there is any mention of Edward? A basic search can be done for free but then, if you want to view the digital copies, you can purchase a 24 hour membership.
