    I hold 2 vols hard back of the 17th Service Battalion The highland Light Inf "The OUTPOST from my Grandfathers effects. Can anybody tell me what they actually did during the WWI..Grandfather was a Act Capt Med discharged France 1918

    Have you tried the regimental museum?

    If you go to the National Archives, you can see the war diaries

    You can see from the catalogue that they were part of the 32nd Division which you could Google for.
