Default John A Beard born in France

I am trying to find out about my great grandfather's brother. The 1861 census has his as being born 1855 in France. My great grandfather was born in Dudley, his sister was born in Monmouth. The family obviously travelled a bit but I can not find out why they would have been in France or if there is any way of getting a birth Cert for John Albert Beard. I can not find him on BMD. Any help greatly appreciated.

The 1871 census shows John's father, also John being born in Paris in 1822.

I confess I'm having a lot of trouble finding this 1861 census! Can you please provide the census reference, or at least tell us which part of the country to look in?

The more information you can give us, the easier it is for our members to help you.

I found them earlier when I was at the library, but failed to note down a reference: I think they were in Monmouthshire?

    I don't think that's the right one.
In 1871 John Alfred is with father James, haulier, who was born in Brighton

Ancestry have him indexed as BEARN

Perhaps if James was brought up on the South Coast he started hauling goods across the Channel

There is a marriage registration of a John Beard to Ellen Pugh, Wrexham June qtr 1850. Not what you are looking for but if it the right one then it maybe worth something.

Yes this is the correct family. I have this marriage cert. Ellen (also Ellin on some Census) was born in Wrexham.
