    Default Closure of Lincolnshire Archives

Don't panic - it's not forever! - just not enough space to add 'until 13 December 2011' in the heading.

You have till the end of September to rush and do any last-minute searching, though the Archives car park will be closed from Monday 5 September.

Brief details, with a link to more information http://www.
    lincolnshire.gov.uk/residents/archives/

Don't forget that many of the parish registers are now online, along with a lot of other documents.

Do read the 'help' section, especially the bit about searching parish registers.
(Sadly, no 1837+ marriages; baptisms up to 1911 - 100 year rule; burials till date of last register deposited so could be as late as 2000+.)

ADDED: Forgot to say that some stuff is available is available at Lincoln Central Library (just across the dual carriageway from the Archives.)
Plus of course Lincolnshire Family History Society have a research centre in Monks Road which will be open on Sundays and Mondays, as well as the Open Day on 17th September. http://www.

(Research centre link on left-hand side.)
