Can anyone tell me about the origins of the OALSON name in Latheron?
I have a William SHAND married Christina/Christian OALSON in 1827 in Latheron.
Christian I believe was the daughter of Donald OALSON.
William & Christian had 5 children between 1827 -1836.
William died 1881 but I have not found Christian's death as yet.
James the third child came to NZ in 1860 after marrying Margaret CUNNINGHAM.
I am curious to know about the OALSONs does anyone know anything of the origins of this family?
William's father James came from Elgin Moray.
