Freereg have the burial of Sarah HALES at Forncett St Peter on 1st Jan 1809.
The burial registers for this period seem a bit muddled & I am unable to find the entry on the familysearch images for Forncett. Can anyone else spot it and advise me of the relevant section and page?
Thanks for your time,
Mitch

No joy, I'm afraid, Mitch
I did notice that the baptism of a Sarah Hales, daughter of James Hales and Aminta(?) his wife late A. Moore(?), on 6 Nov 1808, is recorded along with a few other baptisms in the burial register for labelled as covering 1771-1809. This entry is on image 6 of 7, upside down.
In the 1809-1812 burial register, which starts off saying that it covers burials from 1 January 1809, the first entry is 'James son of James & Arminta Hailes (late A. Chaston) was buried Jan 14th 1809'. (image 2 of 3)
Perhaps the FreeREG details are from Bishop's or Archdeacon's transcripts? Just off to check...

The Archdeacon's transcripts here have the burial of James son of James & Aminta Hailes on 16 January 1809. His is the first burial listed that year.
(Very confusing: the ATs for Forncett St Peter and Forncett St Mary are lumped together; the covering dates given seem to be the ones for St Mary's, which finish earlier than the St Peter's ones.)
P.S. there don't seem to be any Bishop's transcripts for 1809 (at least not on FamilySearch).

I'm absolutely with Coromandel's findings on this. I was plodding away very slowly while Coromandel was beavering away at considerable speed!
What looks suspicious (and as Coromandel has pointed out) is that at Sarah’s baptism on 6th November 1808 http://tinyurl.com/3exnwen (rotated!) and at James Hailes’s (sic) burial on 14th January 1809 http://tinyurl.com/3pgdepd the parents are different.
In (1808) they are James Hales & Arminter[?] (late A. Moore) and in 1809 they are James Hailes & Armintor(?) Chaston(?).
Something is a bit odd here & I can’t see where the FreeREG transcription http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search...cordID=1905290 came from. I can’t see any Bishop’s transcripts for the parish for these dates.

Thanks for your help folks, at least it isn't somewhere obvious!
To clarify (a joke I think):
10 Nov 1795 Tacolnestone - Edward HALES married Araminta CASTON (I haven't seen this register).
5 Feb 1801 Forncett St Peter - James HAILES married Aminta MOORE.
James HALES Bap 12 Dec 1802 Forncett St Peter - son of James HALES & Aminta MOORE
Sarah HALES Bap 06 Nov 1808 Forncett St Peter - dau of James HALES & Arminter MOORE
James HALES Bur 16 Jan 1809 Forncett St Peter - son of James HAILES & Amintor CASTON
Sarah HAILES Bur 01 Jan 1809 Forncett St Peter -dau of James HALES & Aminta MOORE - from Freereg only
Is it possible that the vicar mixed up his two Aminta and hence the James burial is really that of Ms MOOREs child or did he mix his James & Edward HALES up - and as Edward didn't have all his children baptised their is no evidence of a potential James birth to Edward & Ms CHASTON?
I am now even more confused than before as to who is who!!
Another Norfolk mystery....

I have always taken THAT Sarah to be the daugther of Edward & Ms CASTON who was baptised at Forncett St Peter on 7 Jan 1821 (late Baptism????):
But only on the basis that the 1808 Sarah is dead. BUT Sarah HUMPHREYS is born ABT 1812 according to the census. So could be the 1808 now....
