So useful, thanks Hugh. I have a word on a death cert which has been a mystery for months: "Exxxxxxxxxxxx of blood in the head produced by the effect of intoxicating liquor". Found it on that site today, "Extravasation" (leakage of fluids....not a nice image!!)

People in most parts of England should remember to check the online reference material made available through their local library services. Oxford Reference Online contains many useful reference sources including medical dictionaries where you can find extravasation.
The same collection includes The Oxford Dictionary of Local and Family History, A Dictionary of British Place-Names and A Dictionary of First Names - all of genealogical interest. Loads more. Check it out!Peter Goodey
