Default Wallen & Matthews marriage search circa 1840

Any guidance or assistance to finding a marriage in Wiltshire circa 1840 would be very welcome.

James Wallen, b. Durrington abt 1808 and Ann Matthews, b. Fittleton abt 1812 are my quarry. Their names are from birth cert. of son Isaac Wallen in 1848 at Figheldean. His elder sisters were born 1841, 1843 and 1846.

I’ve tracked the parents through the census - at Figheldean 1841 as Walling, 1851 and 1861 as Wallen; and at Durnford 1871 as Wallem but haven’t found this marriage whatever spelling tried.

(I’m hoping to get back to James’ parents and the couple I hope may be them, come with even more variations). Many thanks, Heather

    Hi Heather
Could the couple have married before civil registration?
    Just a thought
