    Default 1881 look up please

    im fairly new to family research, about 6 months, and im having trouble transcibing the chilton family in the 1881 england census, was wondering if anyone could tell me the name down as EDGAS CHILTON,

    Going by her baptism on Ancestry, it seems to be Eliza Mary, although the image does look like Edgas. Parents Thomas and Betsy, father a Carman, 5 Fitzroy Place, Camden.

    thats what i was hoping, thank you thomasin, that fits in with what i already have, just i couldnt figure out how to turn edgas into eliza.

    thanks got that, born 9th april, married george frederick walker in 1897, now trying to find her in 1991, was my mothers grandmother, been working on my fathers side of family mostly but mum felt left out lol

    It looks as if Betsy died in 1883 at the age of 32, and in 1891 Thomas appears with Catherine R, aged 34, William aged 3 and Eliza aged 10.

    PS Just checked back with the 1881, and William must be another child of Thomas and Betsy. I think his age has been given as 13 in 1891, but the 1 is covered by the checking mark (or whatever it's called).

    i have another query, i found my great grandfathers birth on the freeBMD owen pettit griffith, b: pancras sept 1867 vol 1b page 59, but cant find it on ancestry,? what am i doing wrong ?

    I cannot see it on Ancestry either, but his baptism is on there - 23/1/1868 at Holy Trinity Gray's Inn Road, son of William Pettit and Miriam born June 10th 1867

    got baptism, marriage death plus the census's just baffling me why his birth isnt there, just thought it strange
