Not being quite so cautious as yourself I sought the birth cert for Florence Turner in Births Mar 1895 Chesterfield 7b 818 and it turned out not to be the correct one.

As Florence was baptised at St. Hildas, South Shields, Co. Durham, on 14 Apr 1895 (shortly after her birth her family moved to South shields from Chesterfield I believe) I will have to try there for a birth registration, but this time naming her father in the search.

I realise I may be a little late, but I'm replying to a thread you started in july 2011. You were looking for records on George Watson and Florence Taylor. Janet replied to this listing Florence Irene Taylor dob 12/8/1895 died 1980 and
Florence May Taylor dob 28/4/1895 died 02/05/1980. I just wanted to say Florence May Taylor is actually my grandma.

I hope you don't mind me replying now. I realise you may have found who you were looking for. But, I thought just in case you haven't it would be best to give you this info.
