There's a record on Family Search for a Sarah Purdue:

    Sarah Purdue
    Birth Date: 10 Jul 1812
    Place: Berkshire (no town specified)
    Father: John Purdue
    Mother: Sarah
    Source Film No. 596979

The film number apparently relates to the Dissenting deputies registers, 1728-1837 Dr. Williams's Library .

Did she marry after July 1837? A marriage certificate would hopefully show her father's name and help to narrow things.

Hi susyswan, the only Sarah Willoughby attached to a husband-Thomas on the 1841 census that I've found was given age 30..Thomas 36.. with son George 15 born Hungerford. Unable to find him later except one in 1851 ..a pauper in the Hungerford Union Workhouse.

Not able to find Sarah ann or Thomas with certainty.
Member submitted children of the marriage Richard,George Henry.
A Henry was found in yrs 1871 onwards having married Jane.

A Sarah Ann Willoughby also found in later censuses but not in 1851-1861.During these years several deaths for a Thomas.
1871, Sarah A.Willoughby 58 of Newbury is a widow with several children born in Kidlington- Thrupp -Woodstock area. Unknown if this is your Sarah
    RG10; Piece: 1448; Folio: 74; Page: 7

Definite extracted record for their marriage on IGI: 10 FEB 1833 Kidlington, Oxford, M038622

Can you say if any of the above refer to your Sarah Ann please? Will help maybe if anyone is able to check parish records further for you, re her birth.

For the Sarah you have found in the 1871 census; this could be her in the 1841/1851 census.

The 1861 census enumerators' books for the sub-district of Woodstock are missing, and this includes the parish of Kidlington.
