Looking for info for Thomas Orr b 1848 Carnwath, and his wife Agnes b about 1853 Scotland maybe Peebles. They immigrated to Pennsylvania USA in 1886. Would like to know Agnes birthdate and maiden name (might be Chisholm).

There is an extracted record on the IGI for the marriage of a Thomas ORR and an Agnes CHISHOLM on 22nd August 1873 at Carnwath. This could be viewed by ordering the record at your local Family History Centre using the references Batch M116321 and source call number 6035516 REGISTER.

The actual certificate, as the marriage was after 1855 when registration started in Scotland, could be downloaded from ScotlandsPeople (scotlandspeoplehub.gov.uk/research/statutory-records.html - put http://www. in front). You would need to purchase some credits in order to do this

However, if you order the birth certificate of one of their children, (a direct relative, perhaps?) it should provide Agnes' maiden name and thus confirm that you have the correct couple.
