    Default I love Lichfield archives!

...and I want to have its babies.
Yes Lichfield has come up trumps once again! Yesterday I found four more wills related to my ancestors!
But the big one was for William Stanton who died in 1786, though his will was not proven until 1804, 18 years later!! In it he mentions Ann Stanton the widow of his dear departed son George (who married Ann Bennet in Acton Trussell in 1760) also his son-in-law William Sandels (who married his dauhter Mary Stanton in acton trussell in 1754) thus smashing to pieces one of my last brickwalls as I had no idea if George was the son of William or the son of Seth. The second will is that of George's son William (I believe) and I am just working to confirm this but if it come up true as well then I have a clear confirmed run for the family back to 1594!! Whoo hoo!!
The other two wills were for a sister of my GGGGgrandfather and her husband inwhich memebers of the Stanton family are mentioned.

Glad to hear that's been resolved, Zen.

Once again this highlights the value of wills for proving parentage -- well done!
