Hi
Anyone researching Harris family in the Meppershall, Shillington area in Bedfordshire.
I am trying to see where Louisa Harris born about 1818 Pulloxhill, Bed's fits into the Harris tree from that area
I think she married George Gray in Meppershall on 22 Oct 1836, where they had 9 children one of those being Ann Gray born 21 March 1857, who i think is shown living in Shillington 1861 census with who i believe is Louisa's sister, Ann Arnold ( Ann Harris married Thomas Arnold 12 Oct 1818 Shillington )
On all the census i have looked at Louisa is shown born Pulloxhill about 1818
On the 1861 census Ann is shown born Shillington about 1799
As Ann Gray shown as niece is living with the Arnold family in 1861, i think that Ann Arnold must be Louisa's sister but i have had difficulty in find baptisms for both Louisa Harris and Ann Harris as there are quite a few Harris family's in the area
If any one can has researched this family in the area or has any information please post reply
Thanks
Phill

If this is Thomas and Ann Arnold in the 1841 census...
1841: HO107 Piece: 3 Book/Folio: 11/4 Page: 2 (crown copyright, care of the TNA)
There is a John Harris listed in the household, born abt 1771. Can't be sure he is related, but there is this christening...
name: Ann Harris
gender: Female
baptism/christening date: 02 Sep 1798
baptism/christening place: Shillington, Bedford, England
father's name: John Harris
mother's name: Mary
(family search)
I also came across this...
name: Louisa Harris
gender: Female
baptism/christening date: 19 Jun 1819
baptism/christening place: Shillington, Bedford, England
mother's name: Elizabeth Harris
However, your Louisa Gray consistently states she was born in Pulloxhill. Although this isn't far away, it would probably be a good idea to check the Pulloxhill parish registers.

Hi again Olliecat
Thanks for your reply, I've seen these two entries before but i can't link them for sure.
I think your right about checking the pulloxhill registers.
I posted the Harris query here as there might be someone who might have her in their research already, its a long shot but until i can get to checking the registers i thought it was worth posting, as I've had some really good luck just lately with linking my family to other peoples research.
Thanks
Phill
