I have a stong suspicion that Mary Ann Taunton 1811 was sister of John Taunton 1818 Nathan's Father, but as ever with everything, cannot find definitive proof with the early 1800 records. I also managed to trace the baptim records for Mary Ann Taunton 1811 (good match for years of John Taunton born 1818) with parents John and Elizabeth...but it could all be red herrings......

John Taunton Senior C1787 born Coventry is on the 1841 1851 and 1861 census and if correct I think I have found the following children born in the Bethnal Green area for John and Elizabeth, both in the silk trade...John 1818 William 1820 Elizabeth 1826 and Thomas 1828.

John married a Sarah and had Esther 1851 John 1859 and Nathan 1862
William appears to have moved back to Coventry and married a Charlotte Cockerill and had a daughter, also Elizabeth.

in the 1851 census the Tauntons are living nextdoor to Jacksons and the witnesses to Josiah and Mary Ann's 1835 marriage were John Taunton and a Mr? Jackson. The Jacksons were also weavers.

Also living with them in 1851 was a grandson Henry Barber(?) born c1851 a vellum binder....so did a Taunton girlie marry a Barber....

    looking into all this further..........

on the 1851 census John Taunton senior C 1787 has living there a Grandson Henry Barber born c1831 .........

August 1831 there is a marriage for a Sarah Taunton marriage to a Henry Barber Hackney St Johns witness John Taunton and Mr Jackson

Oct 1831 a marriage for a Harriet Taunton to Thomas Rex Hackney St John witness George Rex and wait for it Mr JACKSON.....

Aug 1835 Josiah and Mary Ann were also Hackney St John witnessed by a John Taunton and Mr Jackson.....

maybe Jackson was a churchwarden/vicar? He seems to be on a few marriages but not all marriages on the same page in the register.

So I think I can safely say John 1818 and Mary Ann 1811 were siblings? .....Sarah seems to have been born 1809 Harriet is nowhere to be seen.......
