Someone has kidnapped my great great grandfather in Lambeth and married him off to some strange woman down in Sevenoaks!

They also have him leaving a Will - this person left over £11,000, a sum which my hawker/greengrocer/coal merchant/general dealer ancestor could only dream about.
Sadly, our dear friend Dorothy (alias Thomasin) passed away on Sunday, 17th. February, 2013.

Hi Thomasin, How about contacting the person and tell them you are consulting an attorney to get your rightful inheritance - that should frighten them to death or at least hopefully make them correct their tree!!!

It gets even better. I have found the baptism of the child they have put up as the spouse, and she was the daughter of a silversmith! Quite out of my 2 x great grandfather's league.

Thanks for your post-nice to see someone so helpful-was feeling a bit disillusioned with those who only want to get info from me!

I am still trying to trace the origin of my ancestor Matthew Bradford bornc1766. I am now hankering on a 1767 baptism in Hinxton, Cambs. My Matthew wed in 1978 in Southchurch, Essex and died in 1849 aged 83. Could the bleeder have not waited 2 more years to see in 31 March 1851 so I could get a ref to his birthplace lol. In 1841 he said he was not born in Essex.

On an Ancestry tree I noticed a tree had a Matthew Bradford born 1770 in Little Thurlow, Suffolk son of Thomas and Anne. He had a brother William, Patrick and John according to the tree. All were allegedly born in Thurlow. William was said to have died in 1850 in Poslingford.

I went to Suffolk Lowestoft RO today to double check to see if that tree was right and I found no evidence of baptisms of Matthew, Patrick or John in Little Thurlow, just William in 1771 who was said to be aged 3 when baptised. On this tree the baptism date of William was given but the other 3 just a year of birth was given but place given as Little Thurlow. So how they know Thomas and Anne had 3 others is beyond me. I did check Great Thurlow and 2 nearby parishes, Polstead and Poslingford to no avail. The only theory is they were baptised in another parish, or someone has made them up randomly. I can find no record of a Patrick Bradford anywhere in England that would fit and there was a few born later but all born in Ireland. Shows never to take Ancestry trees at face value and if I do find info on an ancestor on another tree I like to double check myself unless I have already found this out but any new info I double check in case it may be incorrect. I am in contact with a few cousins who I have known since 2004.
