    Hi Andy

I expect you have already discovered the online archive of Flight magazine, at

    http://www.
    flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/index.html

But just in case you haven't, here's one of the war-time references to Victor Ricketts:

On the morning of 4 March 1942, Flt Lt V. A. Ricketts, RAFVR (pilot) and Sgt Lukhmanoff (observer) 'were detailed to take photographs of the Renault works near Paris, which had been attacked by our bombers on the previous night. The weather was extemely bad, and necessitated the aircraft flying in clouds and by instruments until Paris was reached...' (remainder not copied by me).
    (from Flight, 18 June 1942)

    Hi Coromandel,

Many thanks for the link. Yes the Flight Archive is a valuable resource for my research into the careers of RAF aircrew.

I notice that you are in Oxfordshire. RAF Benson (and it satellite at Mount Farm), near Wallingford, was the main base for RAF photo recce operations in the UK during WWII

    Best Regards

    Andy Fletcher
