Hi Jenny,

Just found this via the British Library Newspapers, so I thought I'd post it here to asisst:

From The Ipswich Journal - Thursday 1 March 1888:

"COLEBY. - 26th ult., at the Ash Tree Farm, Old Newton, Mrs. Sophia Coleby, aged 88 years. "

That sounds like Joseph's wife?

Thanks Nick for the info, I havn't delved anymore into the Coleby family since my last thread, I have been concertrating on other ancestors in our family trees. But it does seem likely this is the right Sophia.

Does anybody know if Ash Tree Farm still exists.

According to 192.com it does. The full address is:
Ash Tree Farm, Chapel Road, Old Newton, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 4PP

For a subsciption to 192.com you should be able to find out who the current occupants are. Or you could trundle down the A134 to the Suffolk RO, which has a branch in Bury St Edmunds to check out any details that they may have. Take a picnic and then you could continue down the road to Old Newton to check it out.
