Hi...I'm the great grandson of Laura Slade who married Richard Lightfoot of Treweers, Lansallos in 1893. Laura was the fifth child of John SLADE (and Mary TRUSCOTT) who farmed Tremain at Pelynt. She was born at Pelynt in 1867. Laura and Richard had three children. Dorothea LIGHTFOOT (b. abt. 1895 died in 1897). Doris LIGHTFOOT who was my paternal grandmother (1897-1967) and Neota LIGHTFOOT (1901-198?). Laura's husband Richard Oliver LIGHTFOOT died in 1910, the same year as his father (also Richard Oliver LIGHTFOOT b Morval 1836). Both farmed Treweers at Lansallos.
The grave of her husband in Lansallos church names her as being 'of Ingledene, Looe' (I believe this to be a villa (possibly a guesthouse) in the Shutta area of Looe. Whether Laura remarried or moved away...she remains an intriguing mystery to my family.

Hello Graham
I suspect you may have already found this, but I had a quick Goodle and found quite a few refs. to Ingledene, particularly at http://www.cottagedirect.co.uk/self-...land/8886.html where there are several pictures. If this is the same Ingeldene that you are looking for, you could take your next holiday there......
I hasten to add, I have no connection with the rental of this (or any other) holiday 'lets' - I've got enough other things to cope with
Best wishes
Ann

Hi Ann
Many thanks for suggesting having a google with Ingledene. The cottage you suggested (it is lovely isn't it?) would be too far out I feel. Laura's husbands gravestone indicates that she is 'of Ingledene, Looe'. The cottage is the other side of Liskeard and I do not feel it would be described as it is on the gravestone.
However your suggestion prompted me to look again and interestingly enough a new document has come on line which suggests extending areas of conservation in the town of Looe. Lo and behold (does anybody say that anymore?) I found a reference to 1-4 Ingledene - Shutta - terrace - 1878-1908. This means that at the time of her husband's death, the property was almost new. Possibly she sold the farm and bought herself a nice Victorian/Edwardian terraced house.
Thanks for the prompt
Regards
Graham

Hello Graham
I should have looked at my atlas before I replied
I did see the other ref you found, and I was going to mention it, but I got distracted and forgot all about it by the time I came back to the computer (well, I was away for all of ten minutes, I can't be expected to remember something for that long...
)
Best wishes
Ann
