Hi Looby. Oscar's adventures would fill a Bible as he was a very clever man and could turn his hand to almost anything. One had to do those things in this country in those days to survive. He made his fortune in gold and finally had a mine with another man in Victoria Australia. Emma his wife was unhappy living in the goldfields and so he promised her that he would move to New Zealand and join his brother Albert. Sadly it was here that his wife tragically fell from a railway platform and was killed by the train. There seemed to be a lot of tragedy in this French family and one wonders why?
I would be grateful for any information regarding the Jeffersons as I only know of their whereabouts through the Census.
Sending you a personal message. Regards Sadie

Hi Sadie A gold miner is pretty exciting. I'm glad that he was successful. I found Arthur's birth certificate. He was named Arthur Edward Jefferson and born 6th March 1872 at Vincent Square. Hope to hear from you soon via PM
Regards Looby

Hi Looby. That's good that you found Arthur's birth certificate. Oscar was born 10th May 1863 at St Vincent's Square. I don't have Arthur in my tree and I wonder how that happened.
They sure were a fertile couple with all those children. I'm glad that the genes have watered down a bit as none of us have a lot of children as our French ancestors had. Will send you a PM.
Thanks.
Regards Sadie
