Hi Tony, sorry to hear you didn't make it to the Show.

Yes, this thread has had a lot of views, and new members are joining the forum every day. Also, more resources for research are being made available all the time, so you never know what might turn up. Let's hope we find an answer for you soon.

The parish registers are at the Surrey History Centre in Woking.

We discussed this in post #98 above, but that was quite a long time ago. To save you looking back ...

The baptisms at Farnham for this period are anyway indexed online -- on the IGI and on FamilySearch (batch C069731).

Images of the bishops' transcripts for Farnham can also be seen on Ancestry, in the London Parish Registers database.

I did look at these online sources some time ago, without any success. But you will probably want to have another try.

Perhaps also bear in mind that some members of this JAMES family were nonconformist and might not have used the Anglican church.

Hi I don't want to put any cat among the pigeons here, I have been seeking James James for many years with no result.
I have in my possession a silver half hunter watch, purchased in Maldon Essex, 1862, from the jewellers label in the case, it was my great grandfathers watch, the interior is tooled in gold and very clearly marked James James London. this mark is on the movement not the case. it appears the man in question manufactured the time-piece.
