    Will the following marriage do?

Marriage on 11 May 1827 at Llangurig, Montgomeryshire. Samuel CLEATON (otp) to Ann MILLS (otp)
    (Montgomeryshire FHS)

Note: Llangurig is about 6 miles from Llanidloes

In case you are not aware of this, there are three non-conformist records where the parents are Samuel and Ann Cleaton, living in Llangurig or thereabouts. One is the birth/baptism of Samuel Cleaton in 1832. The second is Roger Cleaton in 1834. The third is Ann Cleaton in 1835. You can view/download these records from bmdregisters or thegenealogist, (pay sites.)

Also, I checked on findmypast and they have a number of parish records covering Montgomeryshire. The 1827 marriage is there and it might be worth your while having a look, in case the witness names are helpful. I also saw a number of potential baptisms for Ann Mills. There was one for an Anne MILLES bap. in 1804 at Llangurig.

Richard has had a look for you in the census for the family. I haven't looked, so I don't know if the 1804 Anne above is of the right age for you.

I imagine this would be Hostler. I.e. a person who takes care of horses (groom or stableman.)

Looks like Samuel Cleaton is a farmer in the 1841 and 1851 census and an ag labourer in the 1861 census.

    1841: HO107 Piece: 1436 Book/Folio: 4/41 Page: 5 (crown copyright, care of the TNA)

1851: HO107 Piece: 2496 Folio: 71 Page: 8 (crown copyright, care of the TNA)

1861: RG09 Piece: 4066 Folio: 104 Page: 27 (crown copyright, care of the TNA)

I think I also see him in the 1881 census, working as an ostler/groom. Do you have access to the census, in order to check this is your Samuel?

Which daughter do you have a marriage certificate for?

Samuel b1807ish was a farmer of 17 acres in 1851
The eldest of the many children had left and lodging elsewhere locally
and were servants to farmers and agricultural labourers.
One daughter appears to have her own laundry business.
