    Default Shipping Records

    Hello.
I started researching my family tree some time ago, and now I need some particular information if that's possible. By the way my name is Jeff, I'm 66 and retired, now, my grandfather was born at West Virginia in1877 and came over to the UK and got married in Essex by the time he was 19.What I would really like to find out is, are there any record of ships and also passengers that arrived over here in about the 1890's from the East coast of America.
    Thanks in anticipation.
    Jeff.

    Hi Jeff

Welcome to the forum - Ancestry do have incoming passenger lists for the time your grandfather arrived. I have never used them so do not know how inclusive they are. If you do not have a subscription you may find you can access them at your local library.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Jeff,

Welcome to Brit-Gen. I would suggest you post a query on the emigration section of the forum with names etc. But to give you a quick reply - Ancestry has U.K. incoming passenger lists for 1878 - 1960 and many members have access to that data.
