Hi
Would it be possible for someone to lookup the following baptisms please.
Sarah LORD b abt. 1810 Hanborough, bap 30 Sept 1810 St Peter & St Paul Church, Church Hanborough
and Elizabeth LORD b abt.1813 Hanborough, bap 21 November 1813 St Peter & St Paul Church, Church Hanborough.
If possible I would like to know their parents, and if there is a d.o.b. that too.
Thanks John from Gravesend

John's brain is back in gear and thread is re-opened as he still requires an answer to his question.
Good luck.

Can't find their baptisms, but in the 1841 census of Hanborough (HO107/890/1, folio 10, page 11), Elizabeth LORD, aged 25, is living with a William LORD, aged 60, Ag Lab, and living in the same house is Philip CRAWFORD, aged 30, Ag Lab, and his children Edward aged 8 & Caroline aged 6. Philip CRAWFORD married Sarah LORD on 23 April 1832 at Hanborough - source Oxfordshire Marriage Index. Also on the Marriage Index is a marriage on 14 August 1809 at Eynsham of a William LORD, Northleach, & a Sarah HICKS - perhaps a possibility given that Eynsham is pretty close to Hanborough according to the map.

Further to the above, there is a death registration for a William LORD in the March qtr 1850 at Witney reg district (contains the parish of Hanborough) which sounds a likely candidate for Sarah & Elizabeth's father as in the 1851 census of Hanborough (HO107/1731, folio 5, page 3), Elizabeth LORD is now living with brother in law Philip CRAWFORD, Widower, his son Edward and his nephew William LORD, aged 7 - Elizabeth's son?? Elizabeth is still living with Philip in the 1861 census of Hanborough but is shown as Head of household in Hanborough in the 1871 census.

Hi John
The Oxfordshire FHS transcript of Hanborough parish registers confirms the dates of baptism you gave in your first post. Both Sarah and Elizabeth are shown as daughters of William and Elizabeth Lord. Elizabeth's baptism (which must have been recorded in the new-style printed register introduced in 1813) shows the father's occupation, i.e. labourer. No dates of birth are given.
I had a quick scan through for siblings. Can't guarantee I found them all, but there was a Jane baptised in 1808 and a Charlotte in 1816 (I think she died in infancy but need to check the burials properly: will report back!).
Jane Lord (spinster) married Caleb Leech (bachelor) at Hanborough on Christmas Day 1829 (witnesses Philip Crawford and Sarah Lord). None of them signed their names.
As already discovered by Janet, Sarah Lord married Philip Crawford on 23 April 1832. Spinster and bachelor respectively. The witnesses were Elizabeth Lord and Caleb 'Luck' (probably the same person as Caleb Leech: again none of them signed their names.)

Thanks Janet most of your info matches mine with the exception of the marriage of their father William. I have William LORD married Elizabeth BALDWIN 27 October 1805 at Ducklington. Elizabeth LORD's son William is we think, the son of Philip CRAWFORD, according to details on his birth cert. Sarah had died before the birth.
The marriage on 14 August 1809 at Eynsham of a William LORD, Northleach, & a Sarah HICKS appears on a copy of a family tree done back in the 1970s, but I think it was an error at the time, But I would be interested to see what family can be found for them in case there is a link.

Hi Coromandel, thanks also for your input, again most of it matches. The details of Jane's marriage was at the back of my mind, but had not really surfaced as yet. Charlotte did indeed die young, she was buried afaik, 14 Jan 1817, St Peter & St Paul Church, Church Hanborough.
Luck and Leech, you could be right, it looks that way.
Any further info on Jane and Calebs family would be usefull, if it came to light.
