    Hello,

I have just finished transcribing the Imperial Light Horse and Imperial Light Infantry WO 126/55-65 and I am happy to do any look-up's.

    Regards,

    Hi Malcolm
    A very kind offer.
Don't know very much about this sort of thing.
Would these records include Durham Light Infantry?

Pending Malcolm's reappearance, the records in WO 126 relate to units raised locally in South Africa to fight in the wars of 1899-1902. I believe the Durham Light Infantry would not be among them.

    Hello Richard,

Thanks for your email.. Sorry, the 'Super Moderator' is quite correct.. The WO 126 records relate to the Colonial Regiments who served in the 2nd Boer War (1899-1902), it wouldn't contain any to do with the Durham Light Infantry.. Sorry

    Hope this helps..

    Regards, Malcolm

For equivalent data relating to the DLI, try WO 97 as a first step.

    Hi Malcolm,
If you are still doing look ups please would you mind looking up my G-Grandfather. He was in Imperial Yeomanry ( 1899-1902). His name was George Henry Price. 22571. He came from Leeds.
    Regards Louise

    Hi Malcolm

I've just posted a new thread in another part of this site ... then found your post !!

Do you have any information on a James Young Watson Lindberg, born Dundee, Scotland, 1869 (died S.A. in 1942) who served 2 years and 9 months in the I.L.H.? He declared this service when he enlisted in WW1 with the Army Service Corps at the age of almost 45!!

    Regards

    Hi

I'm looking for any information relating to Ernest William Baggott b.1876 Trooper 2 Imperial Light Horse.
Can you point me in the right direction as to where I find out where he enlisted.

    Many thanks

As indicated above, I would try series WO 126 at the National Archives.

From the catalogue, WO 126/55 looks to be a good place to start.
