My ggg grandfather Franz Anton Eder noted his birthplace as"Reichenbach Roje Sachsen "?
I have identified a Reichenbach in Saxony but cannot understand the "roje" part.
does anyone know what this means or can suggest a mis..... or other.
the entry is on a census in Ljubljana in 1857.
Another little mystery is the IGI only contains families of the name Ederer in Saxony.
cheers..Ed

Also not knowing, Ed, I googled 'Roje Poland.'...It is a village in Poland.

More info there also, even a Facebook page. Try googling both & look for a map to put them together.
Just did that Ed...Googled Reichenbach Saxony.. get directions for..Roje Poland. It's about 880-900 miles away!Last edited by Procat; 25-02-2011 at 7:24 AM. Reason: Link removed - they have started asking for donations

Interesting suggestion waitabit and I had not thought to extend the search just to roje. But as you say the distance precloudes any connection. The Reichbach and Saxony words are quite clear, so I am presuming the Roje must refer to some section of the town which is no longer called that.
