    Default 1851 Census -Monmouthshire

I wondered if the 1851 census, Monmouthshire is available on cd. Gwent FHS do not seem to have it available on cd.
I am greatly interested in the Bedwellty and Tredegar area, as I appear to have 'lost' some of my ancestors there.

Gwent FHS have done an index to the 1851 Census and it will be on CD, I just don't have a date to tell you - yet. On Saturday Blackwood Branch of Gwent FHS published a CD with a full transcription of the Rock Bedwellty area 1851 census. The CD also contains a selection of photographs of the Bedwellty area and some historical information.

The cost of the CD will be £8 and it will be available from Gwent FHS through their sales officer or through Parish Chest

please leave it a few days before you order them because I only had five to sell and we sold them all at our open day on Saturday - new stock should be arriving soon.

    Hello Ann,

Thank you for your reply. The cd you mentioned would be of interest to me. I will leave it until next week before ordering to make sure there is a copy available for me. I also look forward to the 1851 for Tredegar appearing on cd.
