Yes - I have ancestors born in Forton, registered born in Garstang. Preesall's a bit further away (about 10 miles, I think)
If everything else is right, it's probably the same person. Some of mine vary their place of birth.

Have a look on google map and if you google Forton Lancashire, there's quite a bit of info about its history

Garstang, Preesall and Forton are all in the GARSTANG registration district

See the Garstang reg district page.

According to Genuki, Forton is 3.7 miles north of Garstang while Preesall is 7 miles west.

    On Google maps, here is
Haven't figured out how to provide a link so that all three place pins show on one map.

    Hi olliecat,

Chose the first location as normal.
Click 'Get Directions' and add the second placename.
For additional places click 'Add Destination' and add the third placename etc...
Finally use the 'Link' option as you have to post the above ones.

You may need to zoom out (or scroll) when using this method to see all of the place pins.

Try out the 'My Maps' link (next to 'Get Directions') - there's a video clip showing what you can do with it

I think you may need to have a google e-mail account and be signed in to use it. (I haven't tried it without signing in)

Thank you RonOne. I shall check it out, although I know whom to ask now if I have problems.

Rove, if you want, you could post the census refs for this individual, then forum members could take a look and give an opinion as to whether it is the same person.

Hi Rove, first I thought I would look at Helen Elizabeth Draper, daughter of Evan Draper, as you've shown in the 1881 and 1891 census you posted. I have my doubts that she married George Phillips. See this marriage below ...

Marriage: 24 Jun 1897 St Andrew, Longton, Lancashire, England
William Lund - 27 Carrier Bachelor of Tarleton
Helen Elizabeth Draper - 24 Spinster of Longton
    Groom's Father: John Lund, Carrier
    Bride's Father: Evan Draper, Publican
    Witness: John Draper; Jane Lund
Married by Superintendent Registrar's Certificate by: John Johnson Incumbent
    Register: Marriages 1838 - 1900, Page 100, Entry 200
    Source: LDS Film 1278777
    (Lancashire OPC)

Note: in 1901 father Evan refers to himself as a farmer and publican and he is living in Longton
1901: RG13 Piece: 3942 Folio: 81 Page: 19 (crown copyright, care of the TNA)

You will find Helen E Lund and her husband William in the census below. Helen states she was born abt 1873 in Preesall.

1911: RG14/22929 / SN100 (crown copyright, care of the TNA)

    (from the Lancashire OPC)
