Default Norvals in Peebleshire circa 1865

I am searching for information on the following people:
Mary Norval b. 16 Aug 1865 in Inverleithen, Peebles, Scotland
Alexander Norval b. 27 Aug 1867 in Inverleithen, Pebbles Scotland
John Norval b. 7 Jan. 1870 in Inverleithen.
Parents: David Norval and Helen Anderson.
(David, the father, was b. circa 1837 in Fifeshire Scotland: parents John Norval and Mary Hogg Johnston)

I can find an Alexander R. Norval b. in 1867 in Inverleithen on the 1901 census. He is in New Monkland, Lanarkshire as a butler. Place:Rochsoles Horse (whatever that is?)

I can find no information on Alexander's siblings, Mary and John.

If anyone has information about this family, please contact me.
    Thank you

Sorry can't help with your family. But placenames are
    INNERLEITHEN (not Inverleithen), Peeblesshire
and ROCHSOLES HOUSE (not Horse), Glenmavis, Airdrie.
If you google Rochsoles there are plenty references.

    Where have you looked?
It's not a very common name in Scotland, so you should be able to do quite well by searching the other census returns. Indeed, they'll probably turn up quite easiy on a marriage and death certificate search (for which you'll need Scotlands People). If you haven't already looked at the birth certificates of the children, the later ones will tell you when and where the parents parried.

If you can't find death certs for Mary and John, check FreeBMD in case they moved south into England.

    Default Norvals

    Dear Lesley:

I have information from Ancestry.com and have not gone to ScotlandsPeople as yet. That will be my next step. Thanks for the help! All is appreciated.

    Default David NORVAL

    Dear Mary:

Thank you for the corrections to my spelling...I copied what I found off of the transcriptions from Ancestry.com. I assume some of the early handwriting might have been difficult to read! I often find Norval as "Nowal". Creates all sorts of problems! I appreciate being able to get the facts straight. Thanks again.
