Hi old-penny,nice to see you here. You've probably done same, but I just Googled Hawtins Blackpool 1940s & many pages oif info came up. I changed it to Hartins Blackpool war work, even more came up with other p[eople also looking for info on the Hawtins. Worth a look, there may be something you've missed.
A fascinating company:...just one item

Hi Waitabit, thanks for the reply, yes I have Googled & Googled untill I have no Google left...lol. I have been looking for months, I think I must have found most of the things on the net, I think the people that you have found that are looking for Hawtins are most likley be me on other accounts/forums, but so far I have not been able to find anyone who worked there, but I live in hope as 100s & 100s were employed there over the years, Best Regards old-penny

Is Hawtin plc of Blackpool the same company?
If so, they do have records (held privately). Admittedly they look more like business records than employee data, but perhaps there was a staff association. Worth a try?
Depending on exactly what you're looking for, it may be worth advertising in a local Blackpool newspaper to attract the attention of anyone who worked for the firm.

Hi Kerrwood, thanks for the input, the Hawtins Ltd that I am looking for ran from 1938 to 1972 when the company closed down, Hawtins PlC may have been formed from the "ashes" of the company I am looking for, I will have to look into this, thankyou for that, as for an advert in the local paper? I was thinking of trying that next, Regards old-penny.
