Henry Crawford married Margaret Dunsmore on 17 June 1652 at Dundee, and died 9 July 1684, at the age of 56. This suggests that Henry Crawford was born c1628.
“Register of all Arms & Bearinds in Scotland. Vol. 1. p.273. Henry Crawfurd of Easter Setoune
descended of ye familie of Kilberney, Bears, gules a fess waved ermine betwixt three mollets argent pierced azur. On ane helmet befitting his degree with a mantle gules doubled argent and torse of his collours is set for his crest ane increscent checkie argent and azu. The Motto in ane Escroll, Fide et diligentis.”

This description of arms suggest to me that there must be at least one generation between Henry and Kilbirnie.

My problem is where was Henry born. One possible route for the Crawford "migration" is via Glasgow and Edinburgh. And what records exist for Kilbirnie for this early period??

Any help much appreciated.
