    Great finds Sandy.

There is an Eliza Williams in Whitechapel, unmarried in 1851 census index b 1822 Brighton who might be worth looking at. Sorry can't access details.

In the 1841 index there is an Eliza Williams in Brighthelmstone (Brighton I think) b 1821 who may or may not be the above Eliza.

    Hi Everyone,
It is nearly 12 mths since I set this thread going. I hope 2011 was good to you all and that 2012 is a winner in family history research.

Last year I started this thread to :
"This is my personal family history quest as Meaden is my middle name and it is the one name that I haven't been able to find anything about! So frustrating for such an unusual name."

    So to recap:
    Emily Meaden doesn't exist.
    She was Eliza Bridgewater Williams.

You helped me to solve the mystery of Henry Butler & Eliza - thier family in Australia.
BUT I still don't know where MEADEN comes from?

    Henry Meaden Butler??
    What can I do now?
Ideas would be helpful...I know you all have lots of them! I am chasing MEADEN.

    Thanks,
    Julie MEADEN Connell

This doesn't help with the Meaden name which has come from Henry's family but Family Search has a baptism of an Eliza Williams
27 Aug 1820 St Nicholas Brighton, parents Walter Bridgewater Williams and Maria.

Could these be his relations or part of the family...

    Will do some more looking

So sorry not been on BG for a long time now, stoped doing Family Search as had gone as far as I could go with my own family. lots of things happened in 2011 which have also stoped me. ie Ancestry sub has run out and I haven't renewed it, but I will look to see if I saved anything on the family. so watch this space,

Happy New year to everyone and hope 2012 will be better than 2011.

Sorry you have had a tough year Sandy - my very best wishes for 2012 and do hope it will be better for you.

Julie - Happy New Year to you too. I think the 1851 census details that Sandy found in post #18 might be worth looking at further to see if there is a link between this Madden/Meaden family and Henry Butler.
