Default Farnworth & Kearsley Schools, Lancashire.

    Hi All,

I have come across the following marriage entry which relates to my Palmer line..............

Marriage: 27 Dec 1937 St Stephen, Farnworth with Kearsley, Lancashire, England
John Woolley Palmer - 29, Teacher, Bachelor, of 302 Bolton Rd Kearsley
Clarice Fenton - 29, Teacher, Spinster, of 302 Bolton Rd Kearsley
Groom's Father: John Woolley Palmer, Ironworker
Bride's Father: William Henry Fenton, Retired
Witness: Cecil Robinson; Florence Cicely Allen
Source: Registers held at St Stephens

As you can see, both John Woolley Palmer & his bride Clarice Fenton were local teachers when they married in 1937 & I just wondered whether anyone might remember them at all or might have noticed their names in local school's records?
I would love to learn more about them if possible & it would be great to know at which schools they taught.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful please.

    Thank you,
    Brock

I Googled, you may find some info here :

    >>In 1919 Lancashire County Council built a new school in Bolton Road Farnworth.

This school was closed in 1982.<<

    or here:

Same site they have several schools to choose from. You may have to sign up but they do have a page for "remember your Teachers?"
    Happy Families
