Default Draft Registration WW1 and WW2

    Hi
I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what it means by draft registration.
I have two relatives who left the UK for the USA. I have found draft registration documents for both WW1 and WW2. I am just curious to know what this entailed.
Was there a pressure to join up. Would they have just been on a reserve list or would they have fought?
Sorry I know I should be able to work it out!

ELma, this site (& probably tons of others ) explains fairly well. Apologies for the tons of ads.
