Default John Levi - Wilkes-Barre, PA, USA. 1781

My grt, grt, grt grandfather John Levi (b 12/9/1781) died 1853 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was married to a Prudence Lewis, born in Cadoxton, South Wales, UK. She died in Danville, PA in (believed) 1863. Between them they had 7 children; David (b.12/6/1814), John (?), Ruth (? died aged 5), Letitia (? aged 21), Richard (b. 24/12/1822), Thomas (b. 12/10/1825) and Joseph (b. 10/9/1828).
I'd be interested to know if anyone has any connection and if so I'd like to hear from you and compare details. It is a large family and I have some names back as far as a David Michael (my grt x5 grandfather) born 1727 in Frankfurt, Germany.
    Cheers.
    David

    Default John Levi

    hi there

john levi is my great x 4 grandfather!

he is the son levi michael and lettice phillips, and was an illigitemate birth. I have a picture of him on my Genes Reunited tree, borrowed from a gentleman called John Nibblett, where you can also see the picture on his website, which could help you somewhat - WWW.NIBLETTJOHN.TRIBALPAGES.COM

a lady called peta walker-robson has done MASSES of research from david michael downwards, david michael emigrating to swansea with two of his sons levi and jacob prominent figures in SOuth Wales business, especially in jewellery, which I know is still going today, with the David Michael jewellers in Morriston where I am from.

My tree is on Genes Reunited, are you on there? That's the simplest way of getting all the info you need - would probably have to pay unfortunately but i think it's something like £9 for 6 months which allows you to see other people's trees if you request them.

I noticed you are from Swansea too! You are not from the jewellers, are you??

I hope this helps somewhat, it would be interesting to see exactly what our connection is!

    Regards,
    Bethan Wynne Phillips
