    I have to agree - I found this book very encouraging and helpful when I was starting out, while at the same time telling informative and interesting stories.

    hello again, I have just taken delivery this morning of two more;
    "census, the expert guide" by peter christian
    "who do you think you are encyclopedia of genealogy" by nick barratt, looks amazing!!!!
    heres a few more recommendations;
    " the great war handbook" , a guide for family historians by geoff bridger
    from the britains living history series;
    " the domestic revolution explained" by stan yorke and "gravestones tombs and memorials" by trevoe yorke.
    and lastly for sheer joy; " the perfect summer, "dancing into the shadow in 1911 by juliet nicholson who is fast becomming one of this country's best social history authors, her books are beautiful to read and her style of writing takes you into the period, you do not want to put down the book once you pick it up.
