    Default Lincolnshire newspaper extracts

    the Lincoln Family History Society have produced a web site with extracts from Lincolnshire newspaper, there's some marriages, and wedding anniversaries, and a great story of two women from Waddington, who had a boxing fight for the affection of a boy.... what a great story!!!!!!     Winning £10,000 at the beginning of the nineteenth century must have been quite something: I hope that he he didn't spend it all at once!

    But I pity this woman in 1815: "Birth: On Saturday se“nnight, Mary HIND, wife of Mr T HIND, Mason of Sturton-in-the-Steeple, near Gainsborough, of Two Boys - making a total of Five Boys and One Girl in One Year and 11 Months."

    British Newspapers Archives (on line) have a couple of Linconshire papers. The Hull Packet and Lincolnshie Chronicle. Dates that I have found run from about 1840 to 1912.
