I have just today been looking through The Biographical Dictionary of Quakers in Industry and Commerce 1775-1920 by Edward Milligan.
Definitely worth consulting if you have Quaker ancestors - might have saved me some work had I known about it a couple of years ago!
I think it costs around £30 but may be in libraries.

Another book - The Chocolate Wars by Deborah Cadbury. Have not read it yet, but heard an interview with the author on radio a few days ago. Sounds fascinating for anyone with an interest in the Quaker chocolate makers.

It should be obtainable on an Inter Library Loan. The Centre for Kentish Studies have a copy on their shelves.I think it costs around £30 but may be in libraries.Peter Goodey
