my gg grandfather Thomas Mullins Usher was a licenced victualler at Octagon Cellars Plymouth, Devon. in 1880. His wife Eliza Jane Leer. Prior to this he was in the 77th Regiment of Foot based in India before his retirement in 1868. His first wife was Margaret Mary Maloney from Ireland who we think died in 1863 in Bengal. We wonder where he took the name Mullins from - possibly his mother. We only know his father was also Thomas Usher, a shoemaker. Do these names ring a bell with anyone. Would so love some info. Many thanks. Regards Verity Stocker (nee Usher)
