Hi Belinda,

I looked for them yesterday and corrected a couple. Charles and his family narrowly avoided a direct lightning strike during a storm in the 1870s and probate for John and Rachel are both listed. John and Rachel lived in Miller's Forest to narrow down your area. There are heaps of hits for the COOTE family but I don't know them well enough to cull actual family members. Unfortunately there is nothing for Elizabeth Coote nee Ison and family stories- possibly taken from the family bible - say she was drowned in 1878 - possibly in Queensland. There are no death registrations for her at this time in NSW or Qld. and I'm yet to know whether this is true or just a story.

Her father was William and her mother was Jane. She was in Murrurundi in 1876 but this couple travelled around a lot so anything is possible. I still want to know whether anyone in the family has purchased the 1913 death in Milton, NSW, for Elizabeth Cootes with these parents. It's on my 'wish' list but it's priority is extremely low as she's not direct - only a sibling. Much of my info. on the Coote family invariably comes from researchers of the Ison family. It's really good to have found Belinda - but I'm not that much use to her.

My connection with the Australian Coote's stems from John T Coote who went to Australia,he was my 1st cousin 4xremoved
His father being William Coote, (my 3rd Great Grand Uncle)mother being Sarah Easton who lived in the Cambridgeshire area England.
John T Coote had the following siblings Charles,Jane,Mary Ann,Edward,Elizabeth,Frederick,Mahalia,William,Geo rge & James...James came to Australia as well
