Many thanks to you helachau. The first post you sent I am sure I have read that somewhere, but I have been through the relavent places in my research folders and cannot find it, so maybe I do not have that info. I will keep looking though but that is the kind of detail that I am interested in. I noticed that your second post mentioned that there was a lengthy report about the opening day. I have been to the Liverpool Mercury web site but cannot find the report. I would be very intetrested in reading it in full. Would you please reply and give me the exact web site address so I can see it. Thank you to everyone who have sent me information regarding Christmas and about the postal system. This information is of great interest for me and some of it may find its way into my book. I had promised myself that I would stop doing research by the end of December and the next day would be the time I start writing. Unfortunately I have been very stressed out recently as both my wife and son have been admitted and then released, from hospital. My son has been off school for the last week unable to use his legs properly but is alright now. Its been one thing after another but I just have to get on with it. I can only do so much, so writing The Active Locomotive must be put back for a while. However, just gone midnight and both of them are in bed, so getting the chance to do some work. Hopefully I can get some work done now but will have to be late at night
