On the 1861 census, there is an Ann SELLEY aged 44 but born in Kenn - again in the workhouse, this time with a daughter Susan aged 4. Ann is shown as unmarried.

    Source information: RG9/1389
    Registration district: St Thomas
    Sub-registration district: St Thomas
ED, institution, or vessel: St Thomas Union Workhouse
    Folio: 118
    Page: 3
    Household schedule number: 1

I have therefore had another look at the 1851, as I thought it was a W for widow, but it could easlily be a U with a long 'tail'.

On the IGI there are 2 Ann SELLEYs b in Kenn - one in 1814 and one in 1816.

    Arrow SULLY instead of Selley??

I realise that this is now 4 years later but I have found that my Selleys in Exeter were actually SULLY's. You might want to look into that name.
